MFT Stamps Wednesday Sketch Challenge 582

Hello Crafty Friends! Happy Wednesday! There's a new Wednesday Sketch Challenge on the  My Favorite Things blog. Come play along for a chance to win a $50 MFT Gift Voucher!

Today I have a fun birthday shaker card to share with you. I love playing along with MFT Sketch Challenges. The sketches are always such an inspiration to me. This week's sketch reminded me of a shaker frame ... hence, I have a shaker card to share with you!

I stamped my very favorite celebratory penguin image from Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the image with Copic markers, highlighted with gel pens and cut the image out.

COPIC COLORS
Penguins: C00/0/1/3/4/5/6, R000/00, Y35/38
Red: R22/24/29
Blue: B0000/000/00/02

I took a piece of white card stock and white heat embossed the Number Jumble Background stamp with Versamark Watercolor ink. I used Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks and the emboss resist technique to add color to the background.

I took another piece of white card stock (4.25" x 5.5") and used one of the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2 Die-namics to cut a window in the center. I adhered a piece of acetate to the backside and built a space for my shaker elements with foam adhesive tape. I added some sequins and closed up the shaker with the previously inked background.

I white heat embossed a sentiment from the Bitty Birthday Wishes set onto a piece of Black Licorice card stock. I used the sentiment strip dies from the Blueprints 27 Die-namics to trim the black sentiment strip and a larger piece of Red Hot card stock to resemble the sketch.

The strips were adhered to the panel with liquid adhesive. Finally, I adhered the panel onto a Smooth White card base (4.25" x 5.5").
