Hello Crafty Friends! I have a fun birthday card to share with you today featuring these beautiful MFT Winged Wonders.
A few weeks ago, the incredibly talented Jennifer McGuire posted a set of cards that she made with Easy Instant Pop-Up Dimensions! I was completely mesmerized and had to try out the technique for myself. The process is super easy. The result is absolutely amazing! If you haven’t already watched Jennifer McGuire’s Easy Instant Pop-Up Dimension tutorial video for this technique, I highly recommend it. I will link her post and YouTube video here since she explained the process so beautifully.
I used some acetate, strong double-sided tape and Jennifer’s technique to create the pop-up vellum butterflies in my card today.
I stamped the images onto a piece of anti-static treated vellum with Versamark Watermark ink. I added white embossing powder and heat embossed, I used the Winged Winged Wonders Die-namics to cut them out. I used the same dies to cut out shapes of each out of Grapesicle, Grape Jelly, and Boysenberry cardstock to adhere to the back of my colored images, with liquid adhesive, for some dimension.
For the sentiment, I diecut the Arched Happy Birthday Die-namics out of Smooth White and Limelight cardstock and craft foam. Using liquid adhesive, I adhered the the white letters to the green shadow and the craft foam layer to the back of the green layer for dimension.
I took a piece of Smooth White cardstock (4.75" x 6.75") and laid out my sentiment and cascade of butterflies at the desired location before adhering all of the parts with liquid adhesive. I added a slightly smaller piece of craft foam to the back of the white panel prior to adhering it to a piece of Grapesicle cardstock (5" x 7"). Finally, I adhered the panel to a Smooth White card base (5" x 7"). I finished the card with some sparkling clear sequins.
