MFT Stamps October Release Countdown Day 2

Hello, Crafty Friends! It's Day 2 of the MFT October Release Countdown! This awesome release will be available Tuesday October 11 at 10:00 am EDT!

I have a super clean and simple Christmas card to share with you today featuring these absolutely adorable images from the new YUZU Holly Jolly Santa set. Aren't these the cutest reindeer and Santa? So adorable! I was over the moon when I saw this set! Those sweet reindeer just stole my heart!

I loved these images so much that I used the partial die cutting technique to create a card design that allowed them stand on top to be at the center of attention.

I stamped the images onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the images with Copic markers and accented with gel pens. I used the coordinating YUZU Holly Jolly Santa Die-namics to cut them out.

COPIC COLORS
Santa's Skin: E000/00/21/11/93
Santa's Hair/Beard: C0/1
Santa's Hat/Suit: R22/24/27/29, N0/1
Reindeer: E50/51/53/33, R000/00, E35/39
Sleigh: Y11/15 YR23, R24/27/29/39, C7

I took a piece of Smooth White cardstock (4.25" x 5.5") and used my diecut colored image as a guide to layout the desired design. I used the coordinating dies to partially diecut the upper edge of the panel, first with the outer most images ... the first reindeer and the sleigh. I sandwiched my panel and dies between the cutting plates of my die cutting machine but only allowing covering the top portion of my die so as to not diecut the bottom half of the image. Then, I repeated the process with the second reindeer. Followed by the last reindeer.

I stamped one of the sentiments from the new Mod & Merry stamp set onto the panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I found the thinnest twine in my stash to sandwich between the colored diecut and the partially diecut panel. I also added Santa between the two layers of my sleigh. All of the colored images were adhered with liquid adhesive, then I placed the panel under a heavy book to allow the the layers to adhere tightly ... a slight challenge with the twine and Santa in between the layers.

I used Smooth White and Wild Cherry cardstock and the Connected Die-namics to diecut the H-O three times. I adhered the layers to each other and then to the panel with liquid adhesive.

Finally, I adhered the panel to a Smooth White cardbase (3.25" x 5.5").

Oddly enough, the hardest part of this entire process came AFTER I finished the card! It took me FOREVER to take a good picture of this card! If you are at all familiar with my cards, you'll notice that I LOVE the pop of colors against that delicious white space. Some people enjoy having LOTS of colors. I, on the other hand, LOVE the white space and clean and simple design. I think it allows your eyes to give all of the attention to the main image. I fought so hard to get a good picture and to get the white to the true white that it is in real life. Perhaps this will be the subject of my next adventure ... learning how to take product photography!
