Hello, Crafty Friends! It's Day 4 of the MFT October Release Countdown! This awesome release will be available Tuesday October 11 at 10:00 am EDT!
Today I have a fun shaker Christmas card featuring the absolutely adorable snowman created from the new Snow Buddy Die-namics set that's just perfect for so many occasions. I paired the him up with a festive sentiment from the new MSTN Cool Christmas Greetings stamp set.
I diecut the images out of Neenah Solar White 110 lb card stock. I colored the images with Copic markers and accented with gel pens.
COPIC COLORS
Snow: B0000, R00
Brown: E33/35
Orange: Y17/38 YR04
Black: N9
Red/White scarf: R22/24/27/29, C00/0/1
For the background, I used a piece of Smooth White cardstock (4.25" x 5.5") and Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, and Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide inks to ink blend the sky.
For the shaker element, I diecut the largest of the A2 Rectangle Frames Die-namics out of Smooth White cardstock. I adhered a piece of acetate (4.25" x 5.5") to the back of the frame with liquid adhesive. Then I added a layer of foam tape along the back of the frame. A little anti-static powder was used around the inside edges of the foam tape before I added some snowflake shaker bits from my stash. After the release paper was removed from the foam tape, I adhered the inked panel to the back of the shaker.
For the sentiment, I stamped a sentiment from the new MSTN Cool Christmas Greetings stamp set with Versamark Watermark ink onto a piece of anti-static treated Wild Cherry cardstock. I added white embossing powder before heat setting the embossing. I trimmed out the sentiment with one of the dies from Blueprints 27 Die-namics.
I adhered a piece of scotch tape to the back of the snowman before I adhered all of the snowman parts, to ease the transport of all the elements and minimize the risk of getting stray adhesive onto my acetate.
I adhered the snowman and the sentiment to the front of the shaker with liquid adhesive. Finally, I adhered the shaker to a Smooth White cardbase (4.25” x 5.5”).
