Hello Crafty Friends! Happy Wednesday! It's time for a new Weekly Sketch Challenge from My Favorite Things. Come play along for a chance to win a $50 MFT Gift Voucher!
I have a clean and simple card to share with you today featuring these adorable penguins from the BB Ready, Set, Snow set. I absolutely adore these penguins and decided to have three of them playing on the slopes today.
I stamped the images onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the images with Copic markers and highlighted with gel pens. I fussy cut the images since I didn't have the coordinating BB Ready, Set, Snow Die-namics to cut them out.
COPIC COLORS
Penguins: W00/0/1/4/6/7, R00. Y38 YR04
Goggles: BG0000, W3
Blue: B000/00/02/05
Red: R24/27/46/59
Green: YG01/03/17
Trees: YG01/03/17/25/67, E25/29
This card was inspired by the above sketch but I actually used the reverse or mirror image of the sketch. For the background, I made a homemade stencil by die cutting a piece of cardstock with one of the Sand and Surf Die-namics. I used Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink to lightly blend the sky and a hint of color on the slopes, onto a piece of Smooth White cardstock, to resemble the mirror image of this week's sketch challenge.
I trimmed the panel down to 4" x 5.25". I adhered a piece of craft foam to the back of the panel with liquid adhesive for some dimension before adhering it to a Smooth White card base (4.25" x 5.5").
I adhered all of the trees onto the panel with liquid adhesive. The penguins were adhered with some foam tape for a bit of interest. I finished the card with a few sparkling clear sequins.
As always, I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and visit today. I hope you liked my card. Please also visit my INSTAGRAM feed for more inspirations.
