MFT Stamps Sketch Challenge 626

Hello Crafty Friends! Happy Wednesday! It's time for a new Weekly Sketch Challenge from My Favorite Things. Come play along for a chance to win a $50 MFT Gift Voucher!

Today I have a clean and simple card to share with you featuring this adorable penguin from the YUZU Playful Penguins set, beautifully illustrated by Yan Au. I absolutely ADORE the super cute penguins from this set!

I stamped the image onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the image with Copic markers and accented with gel pens. I stamped one of the sentiments from the set onto the signs with the same black ink. I used the coordinating YUZU Playful Penguins Die-namics to cut it out.

COPIC COLORS
Penguins: T0, T3/5/7, Y38 YR04, R00/20
Red: R22/24/27/27

For the background, I took a piece of Smooth White cardstock (4.25" x 5.5") and and masked off the right portions of the panel with some tape. I used Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide inks ink blend the background. I removed the tape. After the ink dried, I treated the entire panel with anti-static powder, I stamped the entire panel with the Snowflake Flurry Background stamp and Versamark Watermark ink. I applied white embossing powder before heat setting the embossing.

While I had the Snowflake Flurry Background stamp out, I inked up a couple of the small snowflakes with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink and stamped it onto a piece of white cardstock. I trimmed out the snowflakes with a small circle die.

For the sentiment, I stamped one of the sentiments from the YUZU Playful Penguins set with Versamark Watermark ink onto a piece of anti-static treated Black Licorice cardstock. I added white embossing powder before heat setting the embossing. The sentiment was then trimmed out with one of the dies from the Blueprints 27 Die-namics

I adhered the colored image, snowflakes and sentiment strip onto the panel with foam tape for a bit of dimension. Finally, I adhered the entire panel onto a Smooth White cardbase (4.25" x 5.5").
