Gerda Steiner Designs Cupcake Mice Rocker Card

Hello Crafty Friends! I am so thrilled to be guest designing again for Gerda Steiner Designs! Today  I am sharing a fun birthday rocker card featuring an absolutely adorable image from one of the new stamp sets being released this month called Cupcake Mice. The set includes three super cute mice images along with a couple of cupcake images and matching sentiments. I just can't get over how adorable these mice are!

From the moment that I first saw this stamp set, I knew that I had to make a card matching the fun nature of that precarious stack of cupcakes that this adorable mouse is holding. I thought the interactive motion of a rocker card was just perfect for those teeter-tottering cupcakes. I elected to keep the design clean and simple to save all of the attention for this super cute mouse.

First, I stamped the images onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the images with Copic markers and accented with gel pens. Next, I fussy cut the images out with a sharp pair of scissors.

COPIC COLORS:

Mouse: E50/51/53/33, R00/20, R000/00/20, C7

Cupcake: E53/55

Red: R22/24/29

Orange: Y17/38 YR04/09

Yellow: Y11/13/08/19

Green: YG01/03/17

Teal: BG10/11/15

Blue: B12/16

Purple: V12/15/17

Shadow: N0/1/2

For the rocker card, I used the second and third largest dies from the MFT A2 Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics to diecut one large circle and one smaller half circle out of white cardstock. I used the same large circle die to diecut a half circle out of a matching red cardstock. To create the cardbase, I scored and folded the white large circle in half. I adhered the red half circle to the front with liquid adhesive.

For the sentiment, I stamped one of the sentiments from the set onto the bottom of the small white half circle. I adhered the half circle to the cardbase. Finally, I adhered the colored images to the front panel. I added a little shadow beneath the cupcake and mouse with some Copic markers.

NOTE: I hope this has inspired you to create your own rocker card. You can easily replicate this card with any circle die sets that you may have in your stash. For this card, I used the 4.5" and 5" circle dies. I love that the final card measures 4.25" x 5" when folded and fits nicely into an A2 sized envelope.

As always, I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and visit today. I hope you liked my card. I had so much fun playing with these adorable mice. Stay tuned! I will be back to share more cards inspired by this awesome stamp set. Please also visit my INSTAGRAM feed for more inspirations.
