Hello Crafty Friends! I am back to Guest Design with the incredibly talented Design Team for this month's Lunar New Year Challenge.
I would be remiss if I guest designed for this challenge without sharing an actual Lunar New Year card. So today I have a fun Lunar New Year card to share with you featuring the Mama Elephant Lion Dance set showcased on a postage collage panel made with the Waffle Flower Crafts Postage Collage Die. I am totally addicted to these postage collage style cards. I love how it has spots for mini scenes.
I absolutely adore this Mama Elephant Lion Dance set. All of the images in the set are so iconic and bring back so many great memories of Lunar New Year festivals that I used to go to. Have you ever been to a Lunar New Year festival? I highly recommend it if you have never been to one.
I stamped the images from the ME Lion Dance stamp set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the images with Copic markers and accented with a white gel pen. I fussy cut out the images since I didn't have the coordinating ME Lion Dance Creative Cuts.
COPIC COLORS
Lion: Y11/13/15/17, R22/24/27/29/39, B00/02
Skin: E000/00/11/93
Hair: C3/5/7
Clothing: Y13/15, R24/29, C5/7
Fans: R24/29, RV02
I used the Waffle Flower Postage Collage Die to diecut the postage stamp panel out of Neenah Solar White 110 lb card stock. I used the Waffle Flower Postage Collage Coloring Stencil to mask off the edges of the stamp. I lightly ink blended the background with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide ink.
I stamped one of the sentiments from the Lion Dance set directly onto the panel with VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I stamped some confetti from the same set with VersaFine Satin Red ink. I added some extra dots with a Copic marker (RV02) and a white gel pen.
Foam tape was used to adhere the panel to a piece of red cardstock before I adhered the entire front panel to a white card base (4.25" x 5.5").
I hope you liked my card and have been inspired to create a card for this month's Lunar New Year Challenge.
