Hello Crafty Friends! I'm on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today sharing a fun Christmas card featuring a tree of Roly Poly Penguins to deliver a message from the Inside Greetings Seasons Stamps set.
For the layout, I diecut a piece of white cardstock using the larger die from the Fancy Frames Rectangle Dies set. I adhered the entire panel onto the front of a top folding white card base (4.25" x 5.5").
Next, I diecut a piece of white cardstock using the larger die from the Stitched Rectangle Dies set. I lightly inked blended the top and side edges of the panel with Spun Sugar and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide inks. I adhered the panel to the scalloped edge panel and card base.
I stamped the images from the Roly Poly Penguins Stamp set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Roly Poly Penguins Dies to diecut them out. I colored them with Copic markers and accented with a white gel pen.
COPIC COLORS:
Penguins: T3/5/7/9, W00/0, Y38 YR04, R00/20
Red: R22/24/27/29/39
Green: YG01/03/17
White: C00/1/3
For the sentiment, I stamped one of the sentiments from the Inside Greetings Seasons Stamps with Versamark Watermark ink onto a piece of red cardstock and heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder. I used one of the banner dies from the same Fancy Frames Rectangle Dies set to diecut it out.
My sentiment was fairly long so I had to use the banner die to partially diecut each end of the sentiment. I placed the straight end of the banner die onto one end of the sentiment -- making sure to extend the fishtail end of the die beyond the diecutting plates so as to only diecut one end of the sentiment with the straight end of the die. Then, I flipped the die around and placed it onto the other end of the sentiment -- again, making sure the extend the fishtail end beyond the diecutting plates before sending it through my diecutting machine.
I adhered all of the colored images onto the inked panel. I adhered the sentiment strip onto the bottom row of penguins with the ends of the strip tucked under the flippers of the penguins. I love that the dies for that particular penguin image cuts out the flippers so that you can tuck things under them. So much fun!
Finally, I added some snowflakes diecut from white cardstock using the Basic Mini Shape Dies 2 and the current "Free Mini Die with every order while supplies last" dies.
I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and visit today. I hope you liked my card. Be sure to check out the Sunny Studio Stamps Shop for more info and ideas. Please also visit my INSTAGRAM feed for more inspirations.
