Simon Says Stamps: DieCember 2024 Blog Party

Hello Crafty Friends! I am so excited to be joining Simon Says Stamp today for their DieCember 2024 Blog Party! Loads of designers have come together to celebrate DieCember, which kicked off just a few hours ago.

Today I am sharing a couple of cards that I made with the gorgeous new Simon Says Stamp Grand Pixie Snowflake Wafer Die. I love how versatile this die is and how it not only diecuts out a beautiful snowflake but it also leaves a subtle pierced pattern around the snowflake.

For my first card, I created a wintery Christmas card. I diecut the Grand Pixie Snowflake Die 3 times out of white cardstock. I layered and adhered the snowflakes together to give it some dimension. I also diecut 3 smaller snowflakes out of vellum using the Rina Snowflake Die.

For my background, I took a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock (4.25" x 5.5") and ink blended with Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks. Once the ink was dry, I adhered the snowflakes to the panel.

For the sentiment, I stamped one of the sentiments from the Poinsettia Swag Stamp set with Versamark Watermark ink onto a piece of black cardstock and heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder. I fussy cut the sentiment out.

I finished the card by attaching a matching jewel to the center of the snowflake and then adhering the panel to a white cardbase (4.25" x 5.5").

My second card, I decided to use the Grand Pixie Snowflake Die to create shaker window for my Christmas card.

I diecut the snowflake out of a piece of white cardstock (3.75" x 5.5"). This was actually one of the snowflakes that I used in my first card. What a great way to create two cards out of one diecut!

I adhered a piece of clear acetate behind the snowflake window. I added some foam tape to the backside of the panel to create a shaker pocket. Then I took a piece of teal cardstock (4.25" x 5.5"), added some seed beads, and adhered the snowflake panel on top.

For the sentiment, I used the Waffle Flower Print & Script Merry Christmas Die set to die cut the sentiment twice: once out of white cardstock and once out of silver cardstock. I layered and adhered the two sets to each other and then onto the panel.

Finally, I adhered the panel to a white cardbase (4.25" x 5.5").
