This is such an amazing release. I had so much fun playing with this Release and will be sharing several cards from this release. Today, I have a fun shark themed card to share with you showcasing the adorable new Snappy Birthday set that is beautifully illustrated by Jenny @jenoblade_. I have paired it with the cool new Under Water Stencils. So let's get started.
Dunn Dunn. Dunn Dunn. Have a Jawsome Day! This fun card was inspired by the movie Jaws, which celebrated its 50th Anniversary last week. The key word of that last sentence was "inspired". During its debut, the movie Jaws evoked the most terrifying fear of the ocean and sharks. My card and this adorable stamp set is far from terrifying. Even with fangs and all, these sharks have got to be some of the cutest sharks that I have ever seen!
I stamped the images from the Snappy Birthday Stamp set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored with Copic markers and highlighted with a white gel pen.
For the background, I used a 1.25" and a 3" circle die to diecut 3 windows out of another piece of Neenah cardstock (4.25" x 5.5"). I stamped the "Dunn Dunn" and "Have a Jawsome Day" sentiments directly onto the panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
Next, I used the set of Under Water Stencils along with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks to ink blend onto a piece of white cardstock. HINT: to those of you who have only a limited collection of ink pads, one super easy work around is to ink blend multiple times with the same color of ink. There are 4 stencils in this set. With the first stencil, I very lightly ink blended the Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink. With the second stencil, I used the same Tumbled Glass ink but used a heavier hand and ink blended two layers of ink. This resulted in a darker version of the same ink. With the third stencil, I very lightly ink blended with the Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink. With the fourth stencil, I used the same Salty Ocean ink but used a heavier hand and ink blended two layers of ink to get a darker version of it. Basically, I was able to get 4 different colors out of 2 ink pads. Once the panel was dry, I trimmed it down to 4.25" x 5.5".
I aligned and adhered the two shark fin images to the back of the white panel to allow only the tops of the shark to show through the window. I added foam tape and adhered the white and inked panels to each other. I added the remaining colored images with foam tape.
The panel was adhered to a white A2 card base (4.25" x 5.5"). The card was finished with a few Sparkling Clear Confetti Mix.
