Happy 20th Birthday Shaker Card

Hello, Crafty Friends! Today I am sharing a fun shaker card that I made for a special birthday celebration. The birthdays that end in zeros are always the extra special ones, right? The card features some of my favorite products for birthday cards: Carnival Party Stencil and Die set and the Smile and Wave Stamp set from Alex Syberia Designs, the Large Fancy Happy Birthday Wafer Die from Simon Says Stamp and the Outline Numbers Dies and Solid Numbers Dies from My Favorite Things. Unfortunately, the MFT products are no longer available.

I started by creating the background. I absolutely adore the ASD Carnival Party Stencil and Die set! It creates a very simple but beautiful streamer backdrop that adds so much festivity to the card. I used the set of stencils along with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks to ink blend the fun background onto a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock (5" x 7").

I stamped the penguin from the Smile and Wave Clear Stamp set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the image with Copic markers and accented with a white gel pen. I fussy cut them out.

Penguins: T0/1/3/5/7/9, Y38 YR04, R20

For the sentiment, I diecut the SSS Large Fancy Happy Birthday Wafer Die twice out of red cardstock. I layered and adhered the two sets together with liquid glue for a bit of bulk. I used the negative from the diecut to align and glue the sentiment to the inked panel. I added some white highlights with a white gel pen.

For the shaker, I used the MFT Solid Numbers Dies to diecut the numbers 2 and 0 out of red card and clear acetate. Then I used the MFT Outline Numbers Dies to diecut the numbers 2 and 0 out of red cardstock 6 times. I layered and adhered the 5 of the outlines of the numbers together with liquid glue. Next, I adhered the stacks of the outlines to the solid red numbers to create the shaker wells. I added some small stars from my stash and closed off the shaker wells with the clear acetate numbers and liquid glue. Finally, I added the final set of number outlines to the top of the clear acetate.

I adhered the penguins and shaker numbers to the inked panel with liquid glue. Finally, I adhered the panel to a white A7 card base (5" x 7").

As always, I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and visit today. I hope you liked my card. Please also visit my INSTAGRAM feed for more inspirations.
