Hello Crafty Friends! I'm on the Gerda Steiner Designs blog today. I am so excited to be back with another fun birthday card featuring the brand new Peeking Over Puppies Stamp set. I can't get over how cute the two new stamp sets, Peeking Over Puppies and Puppies & Cake Stamp, are. I love that the images from the two sets are similar in style and size so they play really well together.
My card today features the three pups from the Peeking Over Puppies set and one of their puppy friends from the Puppies & Cake set. The puppies are all excited to peek over the fence to wish the recipient a happy birthday ... but unfortunately, the pug was too short to join in on the fun. So he took matters into his own hands (or is it paws?) and peeked through a small opening towards the bottom of the fence instead.
I stamped the images from Peeking Over Puppies Stamp and one shaggy pup image from the Puppies & Cake Stamp sets onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored them with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen. I fussy cut out all of the images.
COPIC COLORS:
Dog 1: E000/11/21/23, R000/30, E25/27
Dog 2: E50/51/53/33, R30, E25/27/29
Dog 3: E41/31/34, R30, E25/27/29
Dog 4: E30/31/33/35/37, W5/7, R20, R22
Collar: B02. R24/29
For the background, I used the Slimline Nature Borders Dies to diecut a piece of clear acetate to make my own cloud stencil that I used with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink to ink blend create a cloudy background onto another piece of Neenah white cardstock (4.25" x 5.5").
For the sentiment, I stamped the "Puppy kisses & birthday wishes" sentiment from the new Peeking Over Puppies Stamp set directly onto the inked panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
Next, I used a 1.25" circle die to diecut a circle into a piece of kraft cardstock (4.25" x 2.75"). I ran the kraft panel through my diecutting machine with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder to create the woodgrain impression for the fence. I used a grassy edge die from my stash to diecut a slim piece of green cardstock for the grass.
I adhered the grass to the front of the fence panel and the puppies to the back of the fence panel making sure to tuck the fence panel underneath the puppies' paws. I adhered the fence and puppies to the inked panel with foam tape for a bit of dimension and interest.
Finally, the panel was adhered to a white A2 cardbase (4.25" x 5.5").
I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and visit today. I hope you liked my card. For more info and ideas, be sure to visit the Gerda Steiner Designs Shop. Please also visit my INSTAGRAM feed for more inspirations.
