Hello, Crafty Friends! I have very exciting news to share with you today. I am honored and ecstatic to announce that I will be staying on the Pretty Pink Posh Design Team for the upcoming design term! I am so grateful for this amazing opportunity to design with this super talented team and with these wonderful products! We are also welcoming two new DT members Catherine Cohen and Melissa Phillips onto the team.
In honor of the new Design Team, Pretty Pink Posh is having a BIG GIVEAWAY starting today. More details below.
Today I'm sharing a fun PINK trifold card featuring these adorable Penguin Friends and snowflake cookies from the Winter Tags all wrapped up in a box of calorie-free Box of Penguin Cookies to mark today's exciting Pretty PINK Posh announcement.
I have a question ... how do you feel about that white border between the stamped image and where the dies cut? Some people prefer fussy cutting right up to the stamped line. Others prefer having that white border. Today, I decided to do something a little different and to use that white border to my advantage. I colored in that white border to represent the cookie part of my penguin-shaped and snowflake frosted cookies!
I stamped the penguin and snowflake images from the Penguin Friends Stamp and Winter Tags Stamp sets onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the coordinating Penguin Friends Dies and Winter Tags Dies to diecut them out. I colored the images with Copic markers and highlighted them with a white gel pen.
COPIC COLORS:
Penguins: T4/5/7, W00/0/1, Y38 YR04, R20
Light Pink: RV10/21
Dark Pink: RV13/14
White: C0/1
Cookie: E53
For the trifold card base, I took a piece of white cardstock (5.5" x 9") and used a score board to score at the 0.5" and 4.75" marks along the long side. I folded along the score line. (HINT: I trimmed a sliver off of edge of the final 4.25" panel to allow the card to fold a bit easier.) The 0.5" strip will serve as the hinge or connection for the card front to the cardbase.
For the card front, I took two pieces of pink cardstock (4.25" x 5.5") and used the second largest die from the Notched Rectangles Dies to diecut a window in the center of them. I adhered a piece of clear acetate to the back side of one of the pink panels before adhering that pink panel to the 0.5" strip on the cardbase. Then I adhered the second pink panel onto the other side of the clear acetate to fully sandwich the clear acetate and the 0.5" strip in between them. I opened and closed the card several times to make sure that the three panels of the trifold now close properly.
I used the dies from the new Present Shaker Dies and the Christmas Holder Additions Dies to diecut a bow and several snowflakes out of pink and white cardstock. I also used the Simple Strips Dies to diecut two pieces of ribbon out of pink cardstock. I adhered the ribbons at an angle and the pine branches on top of the ribbon in the upper left corner. The bow and snowflakes were adhered to card front with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape. I finished the card front with a sequin from the Sparkling Clear Confetti Mix.
Finally, I adhered the colored images to the inside panels with liquid glue as seen in the pictures.
