Sunny Studio Stamps: Radiant Plumeria

Hello Crafty Friends! I'm on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today and I have a sweet summer themed card to share with you showcasing the Radiant Plumeria and Tropical Birds sets.

I started by stamping the plumeria flowers and leaves from the Radiant Plumeria Stamps set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock. These awesome layering stamps are labelled for ease of use. I highly recommend using a stamping tool for this type of stamp. It makes lining up the layers and restamping a breeze.

For the plumeria, there is a total of 7 layers to create the depth and gradient of colors. I used all but two of the middle layers of the series in order to leave some white space on my petals. I used Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide inks. Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink was used for the leaves, For the plumeria leaves, I only used the first two layers of stamp and used Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink for both layers — stamping twice for the second layer to create a slightly darker border to the leaves. I used the coordinating Radiant Plumeria Dies to diecut them out.

Next, I stamped the images from the Tropical Birds Stamps set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the coordinating Tropical Birds Dies to diecut them out. I colored with Copic markers and highlighted with a white gel pen.

COPIC COLORS:
Yellow Bird: Y11/13/15/19. Y17/38 YR04, R20, R22
Pink Bird: RV000/10/21/13/14, Y17/38 YR04, R20, R22

For the background, I ink blended a simple background with Tumbled Glass and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide inks onto a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock. I added some dots with a white gel pen for a bit of interest. I used the second largest die from the Stitched Circle Large Dies to diecut a window into the center of a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock, I adhered the two panels together with foam tape.

For the sentiment, I stamped the “Summer” and “Greetings” sentiments from the Radiant Plumeria Stamps with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink onto ta piece of white cardstock. I fussy cut out the “Summer” and used a paper trimmer to cut out the “Greetings”.

The colored images and the sentiments were adhered to the panel with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape. The panel was adhered to a white A2 cardbase (4.25” x 5.5”). I finished the card with a few Majestic Clear Confetti.
