Hello Crafty Friends! Today I have a fun Halloween easel card to share with you featuring the adorable Gerda Steiner Designs The BOO Crew Stamp set from the latest release. Honestly, I tried to make a spooky Halloween card but these ghosts are just too cute to spook.
I stamped the large image and some spider from The BOO Crew Stamp set onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored with Copic markers and highlighted with a white gel pen. I fussy cut out the images.
COPIC COLORS:
Ghosts: B00 R20
Spider; T1/3/5/7, R20
Hats: B21/24/26, Y02, T7
Cat: T3/5/7, R20
Pumpkins: Y17/38 YR04, YG03
Candy corn: C1, Y38 YR04, Y13/15
Glasses: BG70
For the easel card design, I took a piece of light blue cardstock (4.25” X 11). I masked off half and ink blended the edges of what will be the front of the cardbase with Blueprint Sketch and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks. Once the ink was dry, I used a scoreboard to score the inked end of the panel at the 2.75” and 5.5” marks.
For the sentiment, I stamped the “Happy Halloween From all of us” from the The BOO Crew Stamp with Versamark Watermark ink onto a piece of black cardstock and heat embossed with White Detailed Embossing Powder. I used a paper trimmer to trim out the strip and an additional strip of the same size. I adhered the two strips together for some bulk as this will be the stopper for my easel design.
I folded the cardbase along the score lines. I adhered the colored images to the front of the card — making sure to only adhere the large image to the bottom half of the front panel of the cardbase so as to not hinder with the easel mechanism. I used a black pen to draw in some spider webs for the spiders to hang from. Finally, I adhered the sentiment strip to the inside of the card.
I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and visit today. I hope you liked my card. Be sure to visit the Gerda Steiner Design Shop for more info and ideas. Please also visit my INSTAGRAM feed for more inspirations.
